PROJECTS / UPTOWN MUNICH

Tallest Office Tower in Bavaria

From 1997 to 2000, the architects developed a concept for the high-rise building based on their competition entry from 1993. Characteristic of the design, which was examined in various height and segmentation variants, is the distinctive load-bearing structure of the elevated construction and the segmentation into floor compartments. The high-rise thus continues the tradition of Munich high-rises shaped by structural design. The building design reinitiated the high-rise discussion in Munich and served as the planning basis for the "Uptown Munich" project.

Characteristic of the high-rise are the rounded glass corners on the floor plan and at the building’s top. The transparent corner design element makes the proportionally balanced high-rise appear even slimmer along the diagonal.
