PROJECTS / JOACHIM ERWIN PLATZ
New Hotel and Retail Building in the Heart of Düsseldorf
The curved facade harmoniously adapts to the heights of the neighbouring buildings. The round forms also open up new lines of sight to the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus. The new building follows the supergreen® principles - a holistic system of insights and requirements for future-oriented construction and sustainable architecture.

The street-facing side of the building is being equipped with a double-skin facade that consists of an inner skin constructed using elements made of aluminium and timber and a diaphanous outer skin made of steel and glass. By contrast, the side of the building that faces the courtyard will feature aluminium and timber window elements and a green facade.
Joachim-Erwin-Platz is a transport hub that enjoys some of the highest levels of foot traffic in Düsseldorf.
The inner courtyard with its garden and green facades will create a microclimate benefiting the buildings natural ventilation.
